“Dr. D”
Hall Duncan, Ph..D., is a retired university professor of advertising design, illustration and cartooning. One of his students gave him his pen name, “Dr. D.”
At the age of six his illustration career began when a first grade classmate requested he paint an airplane on the back of his white shirt. He did, and he and his friend were soundly paddled; and their primary school airlines was grounded.
Hall has illustrated many Christian publications in Southern Africa and traveled to eleven countries to train artists for literacy and illustration work. His research on the pictorial perception habits of children in Africa has been published in South Africa and England.
He was educated in China, Europe, South Africa and the United States, and has conducted seminars in Ukraine, England, Canada as well as many other countries.
“Dr. D” specializes in humor for children and seniors. He has received many awards for his community service and contribution to education and human relations.
He is a member of The Oklahoma City Kid Writers and The society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
Since his first publishing of Off Our Rockers in 1998, he has published an additional cartoon book The Gospel According to Winner, Larry and Friends, and six hardbound children’s books in his Woodpecker SunRoom Series. His latest is The Wild Adventure of Oklahoma Joe’s 10 Gallon Hat.
Hall and his wife, Lois, have twenty grandchildren and live in Edmond, Oklahoma. Their hobbies are traveling, ballroom dancing and sharing their humor with kids of all ages.
